POND BIOLOGISTS- Pondologists

Today you are a Pond Water Biologist drawing and describing pond critters in your nature notebook.

-Observe the pond water critters.

-Based on your careful and meticulous observations, draw as many organisms as you see. Pay attention to detail.  You may spend 10 min. watching one critter. 

-Give each organism a creative name based on some characteristics you observe.

-For each organism describe the following:

    *Is it a unicellular or mulitcellular organism?

    *Is it a heterotroph (consumer) or autotroph (producer)?

    *What is one unique feature (you don't have to know the name of the feature) and make an       inference about its possible function based on your observations.

    *Does the critter move, eat, what is it doing during your observations?
