Final Independent Study

Objective: Create essential questions to investigate and share using three or more products (ex. diorama, poster, video, demonstration, etc.)

Day 1 Introduction

1. Select a TOPIC. What science topic would you like to know more about? OR, In what topic are you interested and how does science apply?
Possible resources include:

Science textbooks- physical, earth or biological sciences
              
Popular Science        Science Daily        Marine Biology        Idaho Snotel           Weather.com   
   

2. Write 5 essential questions.   Find or create 5 essential questions related to your topic.  Eventually you will choose a few of those questions to focus on during your project.

Day 2 Introduction

3. Choose 2-3 PRODUCTS  that you will create to demonstrate your knowledge of this topic.  The products should: show what you have learned, answer essential questions, share what you have learned with the class, and be completed within the class time allowed.

*Fill out at least 3 tasks on goals & timeline sheet (10 points)
*Research & product creation time.  Bring any materials necessary.

*3 resources (one book resource), properly cited are required.  Citation Machine

Day 4

*Research & product creation time.  Bring any materials necessary.
*Fill out at least 3 tasks on goals & timeline sheet (10 points)
*3 resources (one book resource), properly cited are required.  Citation Machine

Day 5 DUE DATE

*Share products.  Complete project reflection.

Total Project Points = 50 (40 points for final product and 10 points for daily participation)
