| Background |
I was born and raised in Missoula, Montana. The youngest of thirteen children, I often ate dirt, weeds, and rocks. We couldn't afford kidneys, livers, kneecaps, or socks. We believed that kids who had those organs (and the socks) were spoiled--unless they were thankful. Usually, however, they were not. A lot of things have changed since then. I now stand before my classes with a kidney, liver, and socks, but I can't stand too long because I still cannot afford the 'caps. |
