CAMPUS BEAUTIFICATION PROJECT:

Fall 2006 South Portable Bulb Planting

NHS students spent some of their sunny October after school afternoon by planting dozens of iris bulbs by the new South Portables, and at the end of the main building.  Come May the results were appreciated by all who passed that way.  We hope to beautify the campus even more in other projects.

2006 TOYS FOR TOTS TOY DRIVE AND CARNIVAL

NHS officers and their advisor show some of the toys collected during the carnival and toy drive held on campus in December.

NHS works closely with the Sandpoint Lion's Club  collecting toys and money which will benefit Sandpoint families in need. The club decided to try a one day carnival as a means to bring in more participation and involvement with the community.  The club raised nearly $200 during the one day event, which surpassed the efforts of the previous year's drive.  Additional toys and monies were collected from staff and students during the following week.

Spring Clean-Up Drive:April and May
Goodwill called and asked if NHS would help with a spring donation drive.  Luke Hill stepped up and set up barrels around the school, and then on Saturday
Luke, Megan Curran, Eric Czirr, and Nikki Reoch went gathering donations from around the town.  We collected three truckloads full in three hours!
In May several NHS students, and other volunteer students did a trash sweep around the campus.  They even cleaned up the notorious scraps table.
